MDE’s Spring Musical is Lion King Jr!


Mt Diablo Children's Theatre will partner up with Curtains Up Youth Theatre again on the show this year. Registration will be open to all 4th and 5th MDE Students starting today Friday, December 13th and the cost is $225 per child. Registration & payment are due by the end of the school day January 17th (checks and Venmo are accepted). There will be an Audition Workshop to kick things off on Wednesday, January 29th, where all registered students will get the chance to meet the Directors (Judy Ryken - Musical Direction, Sarah Wilcox - Stage Direction, Frank Ryken - Choreography) as well as receive scripts & audition Information. Final performances will be on Thursday, April 30th & Friday May 1st at 7:30pm.

  The Garden Corner



Our 3rd Annual Garden Pizza Party brought lots of smiles on Wednesday.  A special thanks to Joe Knapp for baking 75 pizzas in his wood fired oven, to Naked Tomato for donating all of the pizza dough, and to all of the extraordinary MDE families and staff who donated produce from their home gardens and volunteered to help prepare and serve up the pizzas.  It was a fabulous day and was only made possible by your generosity.

Calling all Super Heroes!

We at Mount Diablo Elementary (MDE) rely on the POWER OF GIVING to ensure that our students achieve all levels of success!

If 100% of parents give, Parent Faculty Club (PFC) will be able to support our teachers, provide classrooms with new technology, and sponsor enrichment events.

Our goal is to have 100% of families contribute!  So, we are going to wrap up the Ed Fund drive with a 5-day campaign this week August 25th thru August 30th.  Each day we will provide a compelling reason to participate and an update on our fundraising goal.  Plus, everyone that participates has a chance to win a yearbook (Monday through Thursday) or a pair of tickets to the auction fundraiser (Friday giveaway).   

   What is the PFC?


The Mt. Diablo Elementary PFC is a non-profit volunteer organization that helps to fund programs and provide supplies that the school could not otherwise afford. 
The money raised by the PFC supports our computer program, provides instructional aides, yard duty support, curriculum enhancement, parent educator programs, classroom supplies, new technology, playground equipment, enrichment and reading assistance programs, and much more.

To support high academic standards and a positive learning environment at our school through educational and social programs, parent outreach, and community involvement.

PFC Vision

To make every child's potential a reality by:
  • Helping to provide a strong educational and learning environment for students 
  • Maintaining a strong membership and good relationships with teachers and each other through effective communication, planning, documentation, and training
  • Having visibility and a voice in the community
  • Maintaining a healthy bank account through planning and the financial/strategic flexibility to adjust to outside factors

The PFC meets once a month at 7:00 PM, typically on the third Tuesday of each month. See the school calendar for actual dates. FREE babysitting is provided — there is no need to sign up in advance.
